Blogging on break

I’m blogging about my vacation. Am I a geek, or what?
Don’t answer that.

I’ve been on vacation in Wells, Maine with my family since Saturday [Insert either (Yay!) or (Ugh!) at your preference]. It’s nice to get away, except — for some reason, the internet keeps calling to me.
(xkcd, anyone?)

I started out my day by waking up, as I do most days.  Unlike most days, I managed to actually prove how much of a lazy slob I am by not going on a  bike ride with my dad.

Next, my whole family decided to go on a nice walk down to the coast on the Marginal Way.  We braved the hordes of elderly, children, and pets in order to enjoy the view and climb the rocks that adorn this small section of the coast.  I manged to get some cool photos, while at the same time scaring my parents to death with my rock-climbing antics.

This cool groove was right below a wooden bridge.  I think it must have been blasted out.

Continuing on, I saw another chasm — this one, on the other hand, was completely natural.

We then saw a bunch of people hanging out and enjoying the beach.

Exploring the rocks, I stumbled upon a patch of bright, green moss that just screamed “Chris, please take a photo of me using color accent so I stand out!”  Unwilling to hurt its feelings, I complied.

Even futher along, I found a road that, while not made of yellow brick, most likely also leads to Oz.

And, finally, I saw this sight on my return to the parking lot.  I’m pretty sure this is where all the clumps of hair that clog drains eventually end up.

After we returned to my grandmother’s condo, we swam for a bit then went inside — and were startled by the sudden intensity of the storm that began outside.

The rain in Maine falls gently on the… parking lot?

  1. I am insanely jealous that my camera does not have color accent. Also, I like your drain-clogging-hair theory. If you’re right, then things makes a lot more sense. =)
